I am trying to understand how in 4 short months we will have a ONE year old. When did this happen? Dixon is getting so big and cuter by the minute. We can never get enough of him.Dixon has been becoming more and more independent this month. He is…-still a bottomless pit -can sit up on his own -naps twice a day -went to Minden to celebrate Pappaw Goodwill’s birthday -ate ice cream -looks dang cute in a backwards hat -the cutest lion -thinks he’s so big riding in a buggy -became quite patriotic
-celebrated the 4th of July with a donut -can stand
-enjoys Trip kisses -ate chicken for the first time and liked it -had a patriotic popsicle -saw fireworks for the first time and was amazed -matched dad again -splish splash all day long -went to Manchac -outgrew this shirt -hates LA heat -can rock a fro -has a bed time story every night (we try) -too tired to eat for once -bath time got more fun with pirates -thinks mommy’s ring is fascinating -played in his teepee for the first time -went to the circus but peed on dad so we left -rather play in laundry than fold it -celebrated his birthday twin’s, mom’s birthday -saw his lady love -was proud to show his milk belly off -got his first kiss -loves a golf cart ride -dances in the kitchen with mommy on occasion -likes being nakey -sleeps in his crib like a champ -cuddles with mom every now and then -loves playing in the mirror -got a gym membership and has lots of friends and water to play with -everything helps teething -still in the bath tub-was a moose on the loose -will allow mom to love on me every now and then. I’ve become squirmy. -went to Texas, nailed it -played with my cousins-got some JJ love-got some Uncle B love-loved Houston with all the Rowton’s
-had fun until a strange man in Kemah tried to hold me but Dad wasn’t going to let that happen-can pull up-can crawl-can sit upA lot of change is happening… I can tell he’s turning into a big chunk of toddler. Changing his diaper or putting clothes on is like fighting a war. Teething has been hard on him. His top two teeth are trying to come through. He eats oatmeal in the morning and a fruit or veggie in the evening. We let him try table foods often such as bananas, avocado, beans, sweet potato, brownie, coke, pickles, chicken, ice cream, donuts, lemons, crackers, popsicle and tomatoes. In one day he crawled, sat up and pulled up. He can only be held if you walk around with him. Unless it’s at night, he turns into quite the cuddle bug. He seems so happy though. His smile shows up all the time. He’s become very vocal and loves hearing himself. He has a few more rolls and thicker hair. He can fall asleep in a car before you get out of the driveway. He’s very observant and always has been. For example, riding in a vehicle, he can see us in the mirror when we turn around. Every time he finds us in the mirror he giggles and smiles as big as he can. I don’t think he can get more precious. I could eat him up daily!
It’s hard to believe, but we are on the downhill to one. Our butter ball is 7 months old and full of smiles, still not sleeping through the night, becoming quite the wiggle worm and has two toofies! Dixon had an adventurous month! He…-dressed like a true Machacian (tank, jorts and crocs)
-said his first word, “MaMa” -celebrated Memorial Day weekend in Manchac -took his first swamp bath -thinks red, white and pirate is a thing -started holding his bottle because he can feed himself faster than Mom and Dad apparently -loves his rainforest jumpy so much he falls asleep in it after every workout -was happy about his 6 month appointment until shots happened -sleeps just like Dada-had his first hotel stay in Jacksonville, Florida
-went on his first vacation -roadtripped through Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina-really likes hotel stays with Mama and Dada-saw the beach for the first time -explored Charleston-had his first taste of Sweet tea-saw a 800 year old oak tree -visited Minden for 10 days -got his dedication pictures with all his favorite people -stole toys from Aunt Kelly at the Minden garage sale -sleeps in bed with Mama when Dada isn’t around -gives the stink eye pretty well -tried to sneak in Mama’s suit case to Mexico-had a blast with Bren Bren for 4 days while Mama was away -can eat baby food like a champ -got some cuz time -relaxed with Papaw Tuby -was turned into butter by Bren Bren -visited the Monkey’s in Woodworth -celebrated Aunt Lizzy’s grandmother’s 90th birthday -likes grocery shopping with no pants-can sit up like it’s his job
I feel like Dixon is changing so much this month. He no longer likes being on his back. He has to be
moving squirming constantly. He tries to talk all the time. My favorite thing is how smiley he is. Every time he makes eye contact with you, his big grin lights up the room. He is still a good cuddle bear when he’s sleepy. He eats like no other. Not only is he eating baby food twice a day, but he hasn’t slowed down his milk intake. He still longs for a bottle around 3am and I just can’t let him cry it out. I hear is tummy growl and quickly hand him a bottle. Speaking of bottle, he can hold it! This has been a huge help. Especially on road trips. I no longer have to pull over to feed him. I’m pretty sure once he starts sleeping though the night that I’ll think this whole kid thing is easy. Right? He is such a good baby and brings so much happiness into our household and lives. I am starting to forget what life was like without him.
Believe it or not we have a 3 month old! Dixon is officially out of the fourth trimester. He is no longer a newborn, he’s a baby! An adorable, smart, cute, smiley, inquisitive, serious, challenging baby. There has been so many changes that I honestly haven’t been able to keep track. All I have been doing is enjoying our time with him and holding on as tight as I can on this roller coaster ride called DIXON.TODAY is also the day that Dixon is
really 1 YEAR OLD. He’s been out into the world for 3 months, but alive for one year. This time last year when Dave and I were in California was the time our little one was conceived. (I am a Pro-Lifer, so I believe Dixon was alive and our baby the moment those two cells joined)Mr Dixon…
