Can Dixon get here already?? I am officially over the nesting period and I have every right to be since we moved into our house! Oh Yea!! (in my Trump voice) HUUUUUUUGGGGEEE News.. David and I became homeowners in October!! We are overly excited to finally have a place to call home. With a baby due in November, I had certain goals set that I wanted accomplished in our new home, and we have completed them all thankfully. So here is a tiny look into our very first home!
My first priority was the baby nursery. I knew if for any reason Dixon came early that we would have to have his room ready. Next on my list was our bedroom. I haven’t started to truly decorate but I knew how I wanted our bed. Luckily my husband has become quite the carpenter and built our bed, the guest bed, and our dining table. We were able to save so much money with his mad skills, and he will be adding pieces later. The most important ones came first like my dream bed… My Mom will be staying with us once our baby boy arrives so having a bed for her was a necessity. It is always best to make sure your visitors or help for that matter are comfy!
And last but definitely not least is our dining table. I have dreamed of a 8 top wooden table filled with china and guest since I picked out my wedding registry. These tables can get very pricey. My husband came to the rescue and built it for me which makes it that much more special. We have two gray upholstered, high back chairs at the ends and two wooden benches on each side. All that is missing are guests, but they will arrive very soon. I added a little fall decor to our mantle, and I think we are set until I find other pieces. The crystal candelabrum’s have been passed down for generations in my family. I adore heirlooms, and I have a constant thought of my grandmother in our home. One other thing is our beautiful, all white kitchen. What made me most excited was being able to use our wedding gifts for the first time. We have had them boxed away for a year and a half. It was like Christmas morning with each and every box. Also, don’t mind the waterfowl flying around. Marriage is all about compromise, right?!With the baby room completed, a place for me and David and my Mom to sleep, and a place to eat, all that’s left to do is put up some Chirstmas decor in December. Hopefully, the next thing to happen will be Baby Dixon arriving! I will be 40 Weeks pregnant in TWO DAYS! My anxiety level is at an all time high!

We couldn’t welcome Dixon to the world without a shower in South Louisiana, and my new Davidge Family really went above and beyond to make it extra special! My brother-in-law made the invitations, my mother-in-law and Aunt Sherry helped add their special touches, and my sister-in-law and mom-in-law-in-law decorated the shower to a tee and had shower food that I will keep craving.
My sweet sister-in-law, Sarah, who can cook and bake like no other, put on a shower fit for an adventurer. I am in love with all of it! Then there was this. Sarah outdid herself once again with a naked, adventure cake!Cake by: Sarah Davidge

Dixon got spoiled once again!
It is still crazy to me that there will be a baby here before Christmas! One of my favorite gifts was Dixon’s first Christmas tree filled with ornaments all pertaining to him and his uncle and dad. Such a thoughtful gift from Aunt Sarah! So much family was able to make it. My gorgeous sister came all the way from San Antonio.
These two (my stepmom and dad) came from Houston and have been spoiling Dixon since day one.My Dad and I had a comparison of bumps. We weren’t quite sure who won..But I think I’ve got him beat!My precious Mother-in-law.My lovely Mom.My sweet Moms.My Best Friend, Elizabeth, and her precious Mom who has put up with me for way too long. This one though is my favorite! And the best host, Sarah, my sis-in-law.
Dixon is soooo lucky to have you as his Aunt, and I will tell him everyday! But lastly we had a party crasher, the man, the myth, the legend behind the bump…My husband.I can’t believe my showers are over. I have been looking forward to them for what feels like a year. They came so fast and both my families and friends have really done more than we could ever wanted to prepare us for baby. We cannot thank y’all enough for all the love that’s been shown for our boy. Next up on the list is moving into our house and getting the nest ready. I cannot wait to put his nursery together. I have been planning this room since Trip walked the plank, and we knew it was a boy. There are so many first happening this year (the move, house, baby), and I am doing my best to enjoy each of them. All of it wouldn’t be possible without the unconditional love shown from so many. My heart is full, and it is about be even more filled with love come this November.

How to punch up casual…
I have been eyeing this tee since Tory Burch released her spring collection. Call me crazy, but it was my favorite piece she released. The navy stripped collar and the bird illustration takes casual to the extra element of dressy and fun. So, I had to have it for my California adventure to the Red Wood Forest. I paired it with high-waisted navy shorts and my polka dotted tennis shoes to complete the look.
It got a little chilly as we drove north, so I changed into my most favorite pair of jeans.
The comfort and cuteness of this look fits right in for this adventurous day!

I LOVE PHOTOGRAPHING WEDDINGS!
I’m glad that I got that off my chest. This wasn’t just any wedding, but my brother-in-law and his bride’s (my new sister-in-law) winter wedding at Liuzza Land. The venue is set on a rustic barn amidst acres and acres of farmland in Amite, Louisiana. It was stunning and lovely!
But What Do I Wear??
I always like to dress up for any event I shoot. It’s a special occasion. It deserves a special outfit! So when I found this dress, I thought it would be perfect for this event. I like the vibrant colors, comfortability, and classiness of the dress, and my hair crown. It was rainy the day of the wedding, so I threw on some Hunter rain boots until the reception started. Just a little peak into a wedding with me.
I was lucky enough to have a second shooter that I highly trusted, so I could enjoy myself as well. My husband was the best man and he definitely managed to have a good time as well.
Yes, I can dance holding my camera. I can be pretty talented at times. This dress came from Dillard’s and is actually on sale right now.
I am very thankful to have had this guy be by my side the entire night, and this guy, Ren Scott. He is a truly talented photographer and responsible for these lovely pictures. Check him out!
It’s our first week in our new place and a lot has happened. We are living with my husband’s parents while searching for a house. Luckily, I have the best inlaws in the history of ever, so living here isn’t bad one bit. It’s quite the opposite. Looking for a house on the other hand is very stressful. Do you build, pay
a little a lot more, settle, rent, or just do it??
Saturday morning and Monday evening was spent looking at all types of houses in Hammond, Madisonville, and Mandeville. My dream location is Madisonville. It is your picture perfect town in Louisiana. At this point, I will be happy with whatever my husband decides. Thankfully, deer season ended Saturday, so I have my man back until turkey season. Looking for a house will be top priority for a while.
I figured I’d celebrate deer season being finished with my plaid romper. It’s very fitting, right? It was 70 degrees down here, so this red onsie has a winter look with a cool feel. You can never go wrong with a romper. I’d add black leggings and booties if it would have been colder, but that wasn’t the case.
I have my favorite model dog, Trip along side of me. He has legit posing skills. Romper: Riff Raff
